RESEARCH WRITING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
The GIMPA Department of Economics is organizing a 2-day training workshop for masters and Ph.D students on thesis/dissertation writing. Unlike a typical course in Research Methods, this programme is targeted and totally hands-on, and on point, ensuring that participants leave with clear improvement in research writing competence. Topics covered in the workshop include:
- Writing brilliant abstracts and introduction sections
- Writing excellent problem statements and justification for a study
- Writing research Aims/objectives correctly
- Best approaches to writing the literature review
- Sampling and Sample sizes
- Writing the results/discussions/conclusions sections
- Role of the Conceptual Framework and how to develop a good one to add value to your research
- Connecting the conceptual framework to the econometric model
- Functional form choices/alternative data modelling approaches
