Students applying to enter the master’s programs should have or be expecting a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Applicants are normally expected to have passed some advanced undergraduate courses in economics that include intermediate macroeconomics and microeconomic analysis, courses in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. However, people with no background in economics can apply provided they have taken and passed intermediate level courses in statistics and calculus.

Core Admission Requirements
An applicant to the master’s programmes is required to meet the following entry level requirements:

  • Earned a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
  • Graduated with a minimum of 2 nd Class Lower Division.
  • Applicants with third class in economics, mathematics, or quantitative related field may be accepted subject to passing an entrance examination in addition to an interview.

Applicants must submit certified copies of all certificates with their completed applications forms. The completed application form must be accompanied by proof of payment of the relevant application processing fee.

Payment of the application processing fee should be made to any of the following banks and account numbers: ECOBANK (0380014426245701) or Consolidated Bank Ghana (0510110559613). The account name is GIMPA.

The completed application form with original transcripts, certified copies of certificates, and the bank payment receipt in your name should be submitted to the economics department at the Greenhill campus, Accra.
