Executive Conference Centre

The GIMPA Executive Conference Centre (GECC) was originally conceived as a Practice Hotel to complement the teaching and learning of Hospitality and Facilities Management programmes at GIMPA.

The GECC started operations in the last quarter of 2004 and the loan facility of USD2.8 million, which was sourced from Barclays Bank, was paid off within three years of operations.

GECC has 130 guestrooms with other support facilities as listed below:

Part A has the following facilities

  1. A Presidential suite (2 bedrooms, a living area, dining area, kitchenette.)
  2. 4 suites
  3. 6 deluxe rooms
  4. A fine dining area with  a capacity for 50 persons
  5. Drivers waiting room
  6. One conference room with a sitting capacity of 300 persons (theatre style)
  7. 8 syndicate rooms ranging from 25 to 50 table arrange capacities
  8. 3 shops (forex bureau, bookshop, multi-purpose shop)
  9. A large multi-purpose reception area
  10. Lobby bar/coffee shop
  11. 2 restaurants with sitting capacities of 90 and 80 respectively
  12. Food production area with a dump waiter to service the conference floor
  13. A student practice kitchen
  14. 3 dry stores and 3 cold storage areas
  15. A staff canteen
  16. 7 offices
  17. A  business centre

Part B is made up of the following facilities

  1. 81 standard guestrooms
  2. 25 twin guestrooms
  3. 12 executive guestrooms
  4. A commercial training laundry with a chute linking all floors for the dropping off dirty linen to the laundry from all floors
  5. Housekeeping service rooms and storerooms on all floors

Parts A and B are linked with one passenger lift

The facility from the time of its opening in 2004 has operated as conference centre. The management of the facility has the flexibility, with controls, of a semi-autonomous enterprise within GIMPA.

Part C Increase in Prices
This is to inform you that effective Monday 17th January, 2022, there will
be a slight upward adjustment in prices from ten cedis (GH¢10) per plate of food to fifteen
cedis (GH¢15) at the various outlets.
Additionally, we will start the sale of breakfast at the Law Faculty Bar (7.30am). All outlets
will be opened till 9pm from Monday to Friday but close at 5pm on Saturdays.
‘Special meal of the day’ will also be available and this will be shared on the various social
media platforms for individuals who wish to have something special during the day.
